Most authors have websites. A few authors though take their website to a whole new level. These amazing author websites will impress you and tempt to you buy some new books.
katyrosepool.com is a striking red and black website with an enticing book trailer for Katy Rose Pool’s book There Will Come a Darkness. Fun extras include a quiz and book themed tarot cards.
With its stunning nature photography, this amazing author website is a site to behold. I also love how Wilber Smith includes a notebook where readers can learn more about the creatures in the photographs and books. Join the adventure and check out this website.
Emily Martin’s webpage is super fun! The home page is set up in a retro mock comic book style. The bright yellow and hot pink color scheme is eye-catching. Don’t miss this amazing author website!
Jennifer Weiner’s website is bright and crisp. I especially enjoy her tips for writers and her essays. The novel pictured above comes out May 20, 2020. Another of her bestselling books, Mrs. Everything was featured in my Literary Care Package for Your Feminist Friend.
Kerry Lonsdale’s website is visually appealing and offers readers various ways to engage with Kerry, including her Beach Club and Tiki Lounge. Everything We Keep by Lonsdale was highlighted in the blog post First Love Book Recommendations (from a cynic). The novel pictured above comes out July 7, 2020.
Graphic designer, Vince Frost, has created a unique website for his book Design your Life. The crisp black and white photography is boxed in boxes that leads to other boxes. I challenge you to find a similar website anywhere!
Kristin Hannah’s website is chockful of goodies. Especially amazing are links that allow readers to dig deeper into the stories behind the book, like photographs that inspired it and Hannah’s family history. There are links to videos, interviews, audio clips, and more. Another novel by Hannah, The Nightingale, was featured in my post, 10 Books about Striving for a Better World.
In addition to the normal writerly content found on author websites, author Emma Hooper includes recordings of original songs. Her site also includes scholarly research on intermediality, gender, pop culture, character, and pedagogy. What a talented woman!
Lisa Wingate has some terrific content available on her website. In particular, I especially enjoyed the recipes she offers related to her books and writing life. Another unique offering are tips for better family storytelling, a dying art that Wingate encourages us to preserve. Book clubs will find amazing resources for her books here. Her book, Before We Were Yours was featured on my post First Love Book Recommendations (from a cynic).
